Annual Leadership

As a Leadership Member, you lay the foundation for The Polygon’s success as a vibrant space for curiosity, conversation, and culture exchange.

You can make an annual gift, or choose to give monthly with a recurring donation that helps to sustain The Polygon’s work by providing a steady source of income. A monthly donation of $83, for example, provides you with Artist Circle membership.

Artist Circle
$1,000 (or $84 monthly)

• free admission for a guest on every visit
• 10% discount in The Polygon Shop and Bookstore, and Nemesis Coffee at The Polygon
• invitations to exclusive exhibition previews and special events, including the annual Leadership Dinner Party
• recognition on the donor wall, in the annual report, and on the website
• a full tax receipt

Publication Circle
$5,000

• all Artist Circle benefits
• recognition in a Polygon publication over the course of the year
• one copy of all publications produced by The Polygon for one year

Exhibition Circle
$10,000

• all Artist Circle benefits
• recognition on the title wall of one exhibition over the course of the year
• one copy of all publications produced by The Polygon for one year

How Monthly Giving Works:

• Select your preferred recurring gift date, the 1st or 15th
• Every month, on the day you’ve selected, or the next business day, we will charge your monthly gift to the credit card provided
• Your recurring gift will automatically renew annually, 12 months from your first payment*
• Monthly gifts, starting at $83, make you an Artist Circle Member. Enjoy your benefits immediately!
• Monthly donors receive a tax receipt once per year for the cumulative amount of their donations in the calendar year

Endowment Gifts

Contributions to The Polygon’s Endowment Fund are invested in perpetuity, with revenues allocated to the Gallery’s artistic program. Established in 2015, the Fund now contains $2 million, which contributes approximately $70,000 to the Gallery’s operations each year.

Notably, the Government of Canada currently provides matching funds to Endowments, increasing the impact of each gift.

Because of the nature of the investment, The Polygon suggests a minimum donation of $25,000 to its Endowment Fund. Donations of $250,000+ (or $125,000 during the period of eligibility for matching from the Government of Canada) will be honoured in the naming of a Gallery program, which will be chosen in consultation with donors to match the spirit of the gift.

Legacy Gifts

Choosing to designate a future donation as part of your will and estate planning  is a way to celebrate and honour those values that are important to you during your lifetime. A legacy investment in The Polygon Gallery’s Endowment Fund will provide generations to come with access to transformative art experiences.

A charitable bequest in your Will can provide a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your Estate, or a gift of the residue.

As The Polygon’s Endowment Fund is managed by the Vancouver Foundation, the following samples provide direction about appropriate wording for legacy gifts.

Sample Will clause:

• To give [$___ / ___% / the residue] of my Estate to Vancouver Foundation, charitable registration #11928 1640 RR0001, to be added to The Polygon Gallery Endowment Fund.

When designating The Polygon Gallery as a beneficiary for gifts of life insurance, RRSP, RRIF or TSFAs, please use the following:

• Vancouver Foundation, to be added to The Polygon Gallery Endowment Fund.
